My Design Philosophy
I love jewelry. I have such a fondness for the sparkly, the shiny, and the unusual that I've wondered if maybe I was a crow in a past life (and perhaps you're the same, which is why you're here!). I also love telling stories in all forms and have been doing so as a writer and artist over the past 25 years.
Some years ago I went to a jewelry party at a friend of a friend's house and while the offerings were adorable (trust that I stayed true to my crow tendencies and went home with a few pieces!), they felt mass-produced and expensive for what they were made of. Paying hundreds of dollars for gold plating over stainless steel charms that everyone else has doesn't feel very good. As cute as the jewelry was, nothing was scratching the itch I had for something fun. Something that would make me draw my breath in a little quicker. Something with a backstory, Something that would make me say, this is SO me.
So I asked myself, what am I looking to wear these days for fun? And as I sat with it, then poked around online, I didn't find quite what I was wanting: talismans of feminine energy, odes to strong and interesting women, a muse, a goddess, a saint, even a witch. I was looking for female archetypes to match my many sides. Then I had my Elle Woods moment (What, like it's hard?) and decided to start making what I wanted at a price point that wouldn't trigger a fraud alert on my debit card.
The philosophy at jenny noël is simple: luxury should be for everyone and everyone deserves to stand out. This is why jenny noël pieces are made with durable, accessible materials such as coated brass and porcelain clay, with the option to adorn your piece with a small gemstone set in gold sourced from India, a place I once called home.
